Connect your own MCP server

Already run an MCP server? Connect it to Transica to test its tools with AI agents, compare it with your website, watch it for changes and prepare its directory listings. You keep hosting it yourself.

You need: a verified site and your server's address, reachable over Streamable HTTP. Who: members (saving a token is for admins).

Steps

  1. Open Connectors → New connector. In Already have an MCP server? above the canvas, select Connect your server.
  2. Enter a Connector name and the Server address (Streamable HTTP), for example https://mcp.yoursite.com/mcp.
  3. Optional: a Bearer token if your server takes one. It's encrypted at rest and only handed to the test runner while a test runs.
  4. Select Connect and import tools.

Transica runs initialize and tools/list and saves the tools as the connector's first version. On the connector's Hosting tab, Re-import tools reads the server again and saves a new version; Edit connection changes the address or token.

What you can do with it

  • Test it: AI connector tests and comparisons call your tools over MCP. If your server asks for sign-in and you haven't saved a token, the runner signs in with the site's test account through your server's OAuth, like an AI app.
  • Watch it: every 6 hours Transica re-reads tools/list (switch it with Check tools every 6 hours on the connector's Health tab; on by default). When tools change it saves a new version, records the difference, re-runs the latest comparison once and emails admins. Tool changes lists every check.
  • List it: the Get listed flow works with servers you host; your server's address is the listing address. Directory checks also probe your server signed out (expecting 401 with sign-in metadata for tools that need login).

Usage isn't tracked for your own server: AI apps call it directly.

Safety

Tools your server doesn't mark read-only need Allow changes (or ticking them as write tools) before a test may call them. Tools with high-risk names (payments, account closure, credentials, messaging) never run.

Check it first, for free

The MCP directory check reads your server signed out and shows what directory reviewers would flag, with no account.
